A quick 5 minute look…
This looks nice, a Citizen CX02 dye sub printer. Feels study and very well built out of the box.
Reminds me of the Mitsubishi CPD70DW printer from a few years back, however the CX02 is a bit smaller so should be a good fit for pod booths or eventers to move around.
Looks the same as the DNP DS620 printer in almost every physical way, probably guessing that they are the same!
Front loading of paper and ink seems to be easy enough, perfect design for integration into booths, flight cases and retail sites using kiosks.
Not much in the box, some good transport packaging, a UK power cable and what I can only describe as basic safety notes and how to use instructions. No USB cable in the box, which seems to be the norm with these types of printers.
A very quick fire up and a test print using basic software showed 4×6 photos dropping out in a respectable time of approx. 10-11 seconds, 6x2inch strip print option is also available. Just an FYI, had to download the printer drivers from the Citizen website to be sure of the latest version. https://www.citizen-systems.com/en/support/drivers-and-tools
What are our thoughts after a quick 5 mins? Looks like a professional built dye sublimation printer that sits at the top end of the market. Ticks all the boxes for busy eventers and booth operators and should prove to be a solid workhorse for many years.
